Urahutia Productions

Urahutia means the picking of the rare feathers intended for royalty. In ancient Polynesia, they would capture birds that hold the truest red, yellow, green and black feathers. They would apply a sticky substance on a tree branch, wait patiently for the right bird to perch, pick only a few feathers from each bird and then release it back into the wild. With these hundreds and thousands of feathers they created beautiful vibrant capes, headdresses and leis for royalty. Urahutia stands behind it's meaning by choosing the best talent (feathers) on Kaua'i for our customers/audience (royalty).

It is important to Urahutia Productions to share our Polyneisan culture with not just malihini (newcomer) but also our kama'aina (locals). It is our hope that our guests leave our performance with a greater understanding of our culture and we hope to satisfy our customers with an exciting event of Polynesian entertainment.
